• The primary benefit of outdoor PVC blinds is weather protection, particularly wind, rain and cold weather, as these blinds are ideally suited to outdoor entertainment / patio areas.

• Tinted PVC has some UV protection and shading capacity.

• Vistaweave also provides excellent wind and rain protection.

• Unlike PVC the added benefit with Vistaweave is it’s a breathable fabric allowing for air circulation whereas PVC can create a glass house effect on hot days.

Note: The key difference between outdoor PVC blinds and outdoor Vistaweave blinds is transparency. PVC blinds give clear transparency, which may be of importance to you if you want to bring the outside in by providing full view of the outdoors. While Vistaweave is transparent to a degree it is not completely clear and see through.

How to decide:

• Do you require blinds solely for protecting your outdoor area from the cold, wind and rain? If yes PVC blinds may be more suitable as they will meet those needs and enable you and your guests to view the outdoors clearly.

• Do you have fantastic scenic landscape surrounding your outdoor area that adds value to your outdoor area? If yes you may consider clear PVC outdoor blinds to maximize the visibility your guests will have of your surrounding landscape when the blinds are drawn down.

• Is your entertainment / outdoor area generally cooler and does it receive a nice breeze in hot weather? If yes PVC outdoor blinds may still be the best option for you as they give you full transparency on your outdoor surroundings. Although they don’t breath as well as the Vistaweave fabric you may find that heat within your blinds is not an issue due to the cool location and natural breeze.

• Is your priority for your outdoor area to reduce heat during hot months? If yes, you may want to opt for the Vistaweave outdoor blinds given the fabrics unique ability to breath and subsequently retain the benefit of air circulation when the blinds are drawn down.
